Amsterdam and the whole of Netherlands is the must visit place during Spring. Thousands of tulips start to bloom creating a rainbow of multiple colors across its vast lands. The most famous attraction here is Keukenhof, which is one of the biggest garden in the world.
This is the reason why I decided to spend my last Spring in Europe by having a weekend getaway in this beautiful and lively country. As always, I used some of my remaining Interflix passes for a roundtrip overnight ride to Amsterdam!
Here are some of my favorite photos. I’ll also create a short vlog soon! Yes you’ve heard it right, I’m switching over to videos to make a better realistic feels of my travels! I’m still going to think if I’ll continue documenting the budget itineraries over my website since it is still helpful for most travelers- nothing can beat old school!
To be honest, Keukenhof is a really, really touristy place. I arrived at around 9:30AM and the place is already semi-full of people. By 12NN, a lot of tourists are already in there and you can see lots of cameras, selfie sticks, and all kinds of stuff swinging around If you’re the chill type of traveler, better to go early morning or during closing time. Nonetheless, even though there’s a lot of people, the park is pretty well prepared! A lot of ground staff are present inside and outside the park to guide the tourists. Kudos Keukenhof!
In case you have a chance to rent a car or a bike- it’s actually better since you can visit the tulip fields all over Lisse. Unfortunately, I cannot drive both ( I can ride a bike, but a kiddie/teenager bike, and not a humongous Holland standard bike), so I opted to take the public transportation between the park and my Airbnb.
That’s all folks! Watch out for my detailed blog or vlog soon!
